There are countless amazing locations across the country. We can help scout ideal sites for filmmaking and commercial photography based on your preferences. Partnering with a seasoned local fixer/producer who understands the area well can optimize your production requirements, offering one-stop service from negotiation to obtaining permits, which is crucial.
Location Permit
Unlike other prefectures in Japan, in almost all places in Tokyo, you will be required to obtain shooting permits from the established authority or organization in charge by applying with the proper application form(s), detailed plan, and proposal of the project in advance. These documents must be written in Japanese and signed or company sealed by the person in charge or representative. The processing time varies depending on the location you apply for, but the process often takes more than 1-2 weeks.
Please note that simply making a phone call to the location on the day of filming would highly likely result in refusal in Tokyo. Moreover, they are unlikely to accept a filming request directly from you if you do not speak or write in Japanese. FIXERTOKYO is able to apply for shooting permits on your behalf as we have strong connections and relationships with many locations and organizations in town. Location Hunting
Location scouting helps you, especially for remote production, in bringing the vision to life. With guidance from the director, FIXERTOKYO finds places to shoot that coincide with the director’s concepts and fit within your budget. We go into the field to find locations that match the script and storyboard provided.
We have produced countless unbelievably interesting and suitable locations for various media projects such as TV shows, documentaries, promotional music videos, corporate branding films, news, and interviews, etc. ThePicture of our production van was taken with the gigantic Russian cargo plane Antonov at one of the major airports in Japan when we had a documentary shooting there.
Cyclorma Studio
FIXERTOKYO has partnered with one of Tokyo's spacious cyclorama studios, capable of accommodating both film and photo shoots. We not only offer studios of various sizes that are fully soundproofed, but also provide necessary rental equipment and technical staff on set. The largest room measures approximately W8m×D14m×H6m and includes a hair and make-up room. Additionally, we offer LIVE streaming infrastructure services with 10Gbps speed. Production Vehicles
A small production vehicle, suitable for only a tiny crew, can be driven by a fixer. However, finding parking lots, especially in town, is time-consuming and can be a nightmare in a rushed schedule. FIXERTOKYO partners with local bus agencies, providing fully equipped location bus services in Tokyo. Having such a production vehicle is a considerable option in town to ensure your operations run smoothly.
